(Cincinnati, OH) – The Studio San
Giuseppe Art Gallery at Mount St. Joseph University is excited to announce the
opening of the exhibition Selections 2017 (November 12 - December 8,
2017). A gala reception will be held in the SSG Art Gallery on Sunday,
November 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a special Recognition Ceremony
beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Theatre. The public is cordially invited to view the
exhibition, meet many of the student-artists and their teachers, and enjoy the
festivities of the day. Selections
2017 is the eighteenth, and the regions longest continuously running,
biennial exhibition of art works created by talented regional high school
students as selected by their equally dedicated art teachers.
Lisa Sanger will be the featured speaker for the
Selections Recognition Ceremony. Lisa
Sanger is co-founder of the interactive design and development firm: Sanger
& Eby. For more than 2 decades, the
downtown-based interactive design and development firm of Sanger & Eby has
been providing results-focused design solutions for a wide range of clients,
including Macy’s, Fifth Third Bank, Lenscrafters Foundation, and Children’s
Hospital. With a depth of background in strategy, user experience, design, and
application development, Sanger & Eby has grown its business by growing the
bottom lines of its clients and partners.
The firm was founded in 1988 by Lisa Sanger and Donna Eby, both Mount
St. Joseph graduates, and has grown to be one of the largest women-owned
businesses in Cincinnati. The company is
also an active community supporter, with multiple pro bono projects and a
strong focus in education. Of her work,
Lisa states, “I love that change is constant, compelling us to always explore
and experiment to find the most effective solutions. It’s been incredible to watch technology
transform our workflow, enabling more possibilities for creative expression.”
For Selections
2017, Tri-State art teachers were invited to submit two artworks each,
in any media, that were recently produced in their classes and were
representative of the quality of their art programs. This exhibition, highlighting these artworks,
is a continuing commitment by Mount St. Joseph University to recognize and
support the artistic endeavors of young people in our community, and to salute
the excellent art teachers and art programs in area schools. Student-artists will represent 41 regional
high schools. We have 69 art educators participating in Selections 2017, and 124
students will display their works. An
