‘Borders’ Exhibit Opens at Hiram College’s Gelbke Art Gallery


The Hiram College Art Department presents “Borders,” a photography and ceramics installation by guest artist Reba Rye, Jan. 22-Feb. 16, 2016 at the College’s Gelbke Art Gallery (Gelbke Fine Arts Center 12000 Winrock Road, Hiram, Ohio 44234).
A gallery reception takes place opening night, Friday, Jan. 22, from 5-7 p.m., and an artist talk will take place at 6 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
Rye, a graduate of the University of Alabama and Master of Fine Arts graduate of Syracuse University, currently serves as the art area coordinator and assistant professor of art at Kentucky State University, which in 2004 awarded her the Al Smith Fellowship of artistic excellence. Rye specializes in mixed media and installation art and her work can be found at the 21C Museum in Louisville, Ky. as well as in private collections.
